The meeting of the President of the Council with the delegation of the NRTA of China
On October 16, the President of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media, Olivera Zekić, met with the delegation of the National Radio and Television Administration of China, led by Minister Cao Shumin, at the Regulator's premises.
At the bilateral meeting, the President of the Council, Olivera Zekić, emphasized the importance of cooperation between our two countries in the field of electronic media regulation, especially in terms of the growing development and global transformation of this market, due to the application of new technologies.
Minister Cao Shumin said that this visit is aimed at understanding the state and development trends of the electronic media industry in Serbia, in the light of the previously signed Agreement on Cooperation in Radio, Television and Online Audio-visual sector and deepening the strategic partnership of our two countries.
Representatives of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media discussed the situation of electronic media in Serbia with the members of the delegation from China, they presented new trends and the development of regulation in accordance with European standards, with special reference to the future of electronic media in Serbia due to the great influence of platforms on the information process of citizens in Serbia. During the talks, a brief overview of the application of new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, was made.
After discussing all the details related to the trends of electronic media in Serbia, Minister Cao Shumin especially welcomed the possibility that further discussions and exchange of experience will continue even after this visit by the delegation of the NRTA to Serbia.
